Hi friends!!
It has been ages since I bought my last OPI. Don’t get me wrong, I love OPI but I’ve become so addicted to indies lately that that’s the only thing I buy. But of course I was happy to come across a $4 OPI at my local TJMaxx so I picked it up. Juice Bar Hopping is from their 2014 neon collection, I don’t have many orange polishes so I thought this would be a good opportunity to add to my collection.
This baby is super pretty in the bottle BUT I am not a fan, as a matter of fact I don’t think I’ll use it again. Why? well ugh… I cannot fully explain to you why I don’t like it without exposing my darkest pet peeves and crazy nail girl traits (and ranting a little).
But hell.. here we go. 1. I am a VNL Nazi, I’ve mentioned this before. I hate VNL, I can cope with it for a cute nude, but that’s about it.. no VNL shall be accepted for any other colors.. that’s just me. 2. I am NOT a four coat polisher.. nope… can’t.. won’t do it. If you don’t look good in three coats, I don’t want you. Who has time foh that?! 3. I am that fresh polisher who does not like to wear undies, I will if I must (for a review or if the maker asks me to, in which case I will point it out in my review) but no man…. why can’t you just make a better formula so that it doesn’t need the undie?
So this brings us to this pretty orange that is pretty in the bottle, “opaque” in three coats with major VNL showing but even, not opaque enough to be a real creme (even though it’s described as cream in the official OPI page) but not so that it’s a crelly. Not for me… I did however like the mani, the white is Alpine snow (two coats) stamped with Konad black and plate from the UberChic set 01.
IF you are not as crazy as I am, and you like these kind of polishes by all means go for it. The formula is good, it was flowy, coats dried pretty quickly and evenly, and it is pretty neon IRL.
Thanx for reading! Let me know if you like the mani and please share with me your pet peeves so I don’t feel like such a wacko! haha

I really like this look! I agree though, four coats is too much for me. I probably wouldn’t pick this one up.
Thank you! Im glad to know im not the only one who thinks four coats is a no no
Such a pretty mani! I don’t think oranges get enough love
Thanx!
Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!
Thank you!!
Oh I am with you on that 100%! I will not do 4 coats of anything. For a swatch maybe, but for everyday…no way!
A pretty colour, but a 4 coater is something that would bug me so much x
Same here
That orange really is fun!
This looks like the perfect orange to have in a collection. And I like how you paired it with the black and white pattern.
Thank you!
Oh man, I’m exactly the same way! I just can’t with VNL, 4 coats, or undies. I love the mani- the combo of bright orange and clean black and white is so fun. (I really really love it! I might copy it for my upcoming vacation!)
I really love what you did with this mani but I am right there with you on the 4 coat thing. No way!
Your nail art is on point, as always and that orange is just the perfect shade! I may need to add it to my collection!
Thank you!!!
I don’t mind VNL at all, BUT orange VNL? No thankey! This is gorgeous otherwise!
Love this look and that orange is awesome!
Thank you!!
LOVE this color combo…the stamping is perfect, just love all of this!
love the combination 🙂
Thank you!!
